Wesir (Osiris) Mysteries, 2011

This is a very special and holy season for the Kemetic Orthodox, the season of the Mysteries of Wesir (the Osiria). In 2009, I wrote a series of meditations over the night of the vigil we kept here at Tawy House:
God is Dead: Thoughts about the Mysteries of Wesir
Advancing with Your Ka: Thoughts on the Wesir Vigil, Second Hour
Stirring in the Third Hour: Thoughts on the Wesir Vigil, Third Hour
Water for the Dead: Thoughts on the Wesir Vigil, Fourth Hour
Mysteries of Wesir: Thoughts on the Wesir Vigil, Fifth Hour
Dua Wesir, Nekhtet!: Thoughts on the Wesir Vigil, Sixth Hour

These meditations are still quite valid, and we will be repeating the vigil this coming weekend with our congregation. This year, we’re actually going to be using a full version of the Mysteries vigil, from Philae temple. I’m very excited about this; it’s a new translation I’ve been working on for a while, that Tanebet, my priest of Heru-sa-Aset, managed to track down. It makes the beautiful words we had already been using pale in comparison.

For this week, as the Mysteries continue and we celebrate them online and offline, I’d also like to point you to the meditations of one of our priests of Wesir, Raheri, who has put up a beautiful set of them on his own website for this year:
Mysteries of Wesir: Day 1 by Raheri
Mysteries of Wesir: Day 2 by Raheri
Mysteries of Wesir: Day 3 by Raheri
Mysteries of Wesir: Day 4 by Raheri
Mysteries of Wesir: Day 5 by Raheri
Mysteries of Wesir: Day 6 by Raheri
Mysteries of Wesir: Day 7 by Raheri

May the blessings of the Great Lord, Who Dies and Yet Lives, be with you at this quiet and holy season.
